Job Description

This job description establishes and defines the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities and duties of a Interior Technician at Central Flying Service.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

· Interior Technicians report to the Manager Interior

· When directed, Technicians will report to the assigned Lead Technician

REQUIREMENTS
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Additional Aviation Training, including training in aircraft maintenance or equivalent combination of education, training or experience
Licensing/Registration/Certification
Required: Driver’s License

Experience - Must have 1 year experience in aircraft interior maintenance
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
Language Skills:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to the customers or employees of organization
Mathematical Skills:
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts and to apply concepts of basic math
Reasoning Ability:
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

A typical workweek consists of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with some overtime required

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment can be very loud on occasion.

AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Interior Technician is responsible to perform assigned tasks on airframe, interior, and associated components, in accordance with current FAA regulations, and appropriate technical manuals
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

· Researches technical data and performs disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, and testing of cabin interiors and related equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations and EAC policies and procedures
· Installs aircraft interior furnishings, trim and accessories, including carpeting, sidewalls, doors, windows, seats, partitions, galleys, and passenger service units, according to specifications
· Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and production procedures to determine measurements and installation procedures
· Measures and marks installation areas in aircraft interior, using measuring and marking instruments and templates, drills, reams, countersinks, and rivets
· Trims and files parts and assemblies, using hand tools and power tools
· Fits and install items in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, and fasteners, such as screws, rivets bolts and speednuts
· Fabricates and installs supporting structural devices such as clips, brackets, angles, gussets, and doublers, using shop equipment
· Tests functional performance of installed items
· Disassembles interior components
· Cleans used material, foam and glue from work pieces
· Prepare new materials
· Reconstructs components
· Reworks installations as required
· Performs maintenance duties away from the base on temporary duty
· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and report findings of discrepancies to appropriate personnel
· Install optional or added equipment to aircraft
· Accurately tag and store items removed from the aircraft during the dismantling phase
· Document descriptively, the findings found during inspections in appropriate location
· Document in detail the corrective action taken from aircraft discrepancy lists
· Seek guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties
· Use good judgment in decision making
· Demonstrate good judgment in investigating problems
· Respect the confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information
· Maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members
· Demonstrate ability to tactfully handle difficult situations
· Recognize and deal with priorities
· Perform all assigned duties in an independent manner with little supervision
· Assist others as needed
· Ensure all time cards and time sheets are properly filled out at squawk change or job completion and turned in `at the end of each shift.
· Make the best use of time during shift. Check with DOM or Designee before logging any non-productive time.
· Provide proper notification and advanced notice of absence
· Report to work on time each day, after lunch, after breaks, and not leave early
· Maintain the work area in a neat and orderly manner
· Maintain an awareness of and conform to all company policies and procedures
· Wear a clean complete company uniform and maintain a well groomed, professional appearance, appropriate for the position.
· Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Maintenance
· Recognize and perform duties, which need to be carried out although not directly assigned

Additional Information

Full-time position
7:00 - 3:30 Monday-Friday
Some overtime required

Basic Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License
1 year experience in aircraft interior maintenance
