Job Description

This job description establishes and defines the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities, and duties of the Parts Department Clerk within the Parts Department at Central Flying Service.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Parts Clerk reports to the Parts Department Director, the Parts Department Assistant Directors.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED.

License: Valid Driver's License

Experience:
Required: Have two years or more parts inventory or general office clerk experience.

Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
The ability to communicate with customers and department heads in a friendly, professional manner.
The ability to maintain files and routinely update information.
The ability to use a computer and associated programs.
The ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
The ability to stock and locate parts in an alphanumeric inventory system.

Physical
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. These include walking through maintenance spaces and use stairs to interface with corporate entities. The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and bending, reaching, and crouching. Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be cognizant of the dangers, in particular those associated with loud noises, while working in a hazardous flight environment for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.

Mental
Must be able to read, understand, and interpret instructions and information at the high school level.


WORKING CONDITIONS

The work for this position will be based in a climate controlled, smoke free office environment during the workday. The employee will be required to travel throughout all maintenance spaces, hangars, and across aircraft parking ramps, exposed to the temperature ranges found in Little Rock, AR.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Parts Department Clerk is charged with all general Parts Department duties.
AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Parts Department clerk is responsible to the Parts Department Director for all assigned duties and task.
DUTIES AND TASKS
1. Train and assist fellow Parts Department personnel in the proper work procedures and practices to be followed.
2. Maintain all Parts Department in clean and orderly working condition.
3. Provide quality service for interdepartmental and retail customers.
4. Properly store, store, segregate, and protect materials, parts and supplies.
5. Ensure accuracy of parts issued to work orders or invoices.
6. Prepare invoices and account for parts records in accordance with approved procedures.
7. Follow proper procedures when stocking, shipping, and disposing of all hazardous materials.
8. Follow proper procedures in all shipping and receiving aircraft parts,
9. Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.
10. Follow all instructions (written and verbal) given by the Parts Department Director.
11. Perform all other duties and tasks as may be directed from time to time by the Parts Department Director.

Full-time position
M-F 7:00 - 3:30 PM
Some overtime required

Basic Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License
Two (2) years parts inventory or general office clerk experience.
